Hope Hose Humane Fire Company was founded on January 24, 1767 as the Union Fire Company. In 1822 they changed their name to Humane Fire Company. In 1976 they combined with Hope Hose Fire Company to form the Hope Hose Humane Fire Company. The Consolidated Fire Association was formed in 1966 when the Delaware Fire Company, Citizens Hook & Ladder Company and Weccacoe Hose Company merged into one fire association.
