The Wallingford Fire Department serves the Town of Wallingford, Connecticut. Serving a community of 43,000, Wallingford's firefighters cover a primarily suburban community about 10 miles north of New Haven. Like many departments in the Greater New Haven area, Wallingford's firefighters are a combination of career and volunteer personnel. Their response area is primarily residential, with a portion of the busy US Route 5 commercial corridor (as well as part of Interstate 91), along with the Allnex Chemical Company in the south end of town (which has a small on-site fire brigade). In addition to fire suppression and rescue services, Wallingford's firefighters provide Paramedic-level ambulance service to the town.
