Structure Fire - City of Olean, NY - 02/09/2021
At 1821 hours, Olean Firefighters were dispatched the 100 block of South 2nd Street in the city to a reported structure fire. Upon arrival attic area of 2.5 story building completely charged with smoke and free burning in the side 1 space. 1.75" handlines were advanced to the seat of the fire and fire was extinguished. Extensive overhaul of the roof was required due to heat reaching the cedar shake roofing material. Occupants had evacuated and numerous pets were also removed from the living spaces. One occupant was transported to OGH. Smoke and fire damage were confined to the attic and roof. Trans AM assisted at the scene with transport of the patient and OPD assisted with occupants and and traffic control.
