Structure Fire - Cuba, NY - 12/29/2019
At 2031 on Sunday 12/29/2019, Cuba Fire Department (Allegany County) was dispatched to a reported working structure fire at the former Stauffer Biscuit Company 8678 Farnsworth Road in the Town of Cuba. Several phone calls to 911 reported smoke and fire showing from an attached garage. Initial dispatch included Cuba Fire, Cuba Ambulance, Friendship, Clarksville, Rushford, New Hudson, DC-1, DC-4, DC-6 and from Cattaraugus County - FAST Team 4.
Cuba Fire and Police arrived on scene reporting heavy smoke and fire visible from the second floor of an attached garage. Cuba Chief called for an immediate 2nd alarm. Additional departments called to the scene include Belfast, Oramel, MTS Ambulance, Bolivar, Units from Cattaraugus County FAST Team include Allegany Fire, Westons Mills, Portville and Deputy 4.
Approximately 75-100 members from 13 departments in two counties worked to contain the fire to the second floor garage. Fire was under control at 2202. The cause is under investigation by Allegany County Fire Investigators.
